A fermented black tea, distinctively rolled to resemble spaghetti, with an astringent flavour.

The spaghetti-like appearance of this tea is well-known across the world but mainly in Japan, its country of origin. This traditional Japanese green tea mostly comes from Japan's Shizouka region, and is loved for its smooth and nutty flavour.

This tea's interesting appearance comes from the way it is processed following the harvesting stage. The raw tea leaves are ground into a powder and then mixed with water to form a paste. The paste is then put through a mesh which produces the familiar strands which are synonymous with Kokei Cha.
